Professional struggling with managing emotions and anger in relationship. Over time we explored the roots of his triggers in his early relationships. He is calmer and more able to communicate with his partner when they have different needs..
Man whose relationship ended after the inappropriate internet use. He has been able to better understand the parts of him which led him to do this and is now feeling better about himself and his ability to relate honestly with others.
Compulsive exerciser who was worried about having children because it might restrict his freedom to train. We were able to understand the need to exercise in the context of bullying as a teenager for being overweight. He improved his ability to communicate with his wife and before ending therapy they were considering starting a family.
Man who struggled to state his needs within relationships. We were able to identify parts of him which understandably feared big emotions and the risk of not being liked. Getting to know these parts, their roles and the reasons for their beliefs has helped to create more space to notice them but not be driven by them. He is taking more risks in stating his needs now.
